I was at a restaurant not too long ago chatting with the manager who was a friend of mine and suddenly a well dressed man approached him and handed him his business card.
He said he had been watching my friend for quite some time and observing his management style. He asked if they could speak in private. My friend agreed and they stepped outside to talk.
It turns out the man was a recruiter representing a large restaurant group who was expanding to the area and looking for the “right” kind of manager to lead the team. He said he had been in many restaurants observing the managers and had not seen anyone as effective and dynamic as my friend.
